Associate Educator (Teen-Adult)
The New Orleans Museum of Art is currently seeking applicants for the role of Associate Educator (Teen-Adult). The Associate Educator (Teen-Adult) plays a pivotal role in the Education Programs Division of the Learning and Engagement Department, focusing on informal learning for middle school, post-secondary, and adult visitors. Working closely with the Education Programs Manager, the Associate Educator (Teen-Adult) is responsible for designing and administering multidisciplinary arts-based programming for teen to adult visitors, coordinating the Teen Arts Council program, and providing operational oversight of Teen-focused special events. The role also involves supporting the creation of interpretation materials and art activities for post-secondary, adult visitors, and assisting with creating, organizing, and sharing educator reference materials. The ideal candidate will have proven experience supporting activities that engage older adult visitors through multidisciplinary arts-based educational experiences.
Responsibilities
● Design and administer multidisciplinary arts-based programming for teen to adult visitors.
● Coordinate all components of the Teen Art Council (TAC).
● Provide administrative oversight of Teen-focused special events, including the annual Teen Night at NOMA.
● Support creation, implementation, and evaluation of content for digital interpretation, school visits, workshops, tours, and art activities for post-secondary, adult, and older adult visitors.
● Assist with creating, organizing, and sharing educator reference materials in the Educator Toolbox, organizing professional development events, and programming designed specifically for educators.
● Assist with creating age-specific training materials for the Volunteer Docent program.
● Support the division with other tasks as needed, including collaborating with the engagement division, assisting with departmental events, and contributing to departmental meetings and reports.
