Accounting Assistant
Ideal Gear & Machine Works Ltd. (“Ideal Gear”) is seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to ensure our Company’s accounting functions run accurately and effectively. Reporting up to the Regional Controller, the Accounting Assistant will take full ownership of AP and AR operations, support month-end close, and maintain audit-ready financial records. This role will be based out of the Ideal Gear office in Delta, BC, with travel requirements to Ideal Gear’s sister company in North Vancouver, United Gear 2-4 times per month.

Key Responsibilities:
Full Ownership of Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Vendor setup, invoice entry, invoice review, and payment runs up to the point of cheque printing
- Administer cheque runs
- AP aging management and vendor reconciliations
- Cut-off and accrual completeness
- Credit card reconciliations
- Customer invoicing, cash application, collections support
- AR aging monitoring and bad debt tracking
Month End Close Support:
· AP / AR subledger close
· Balance sheet reconciliations
· Routine accruals
· GST/PST/CARM reconciliation and tracking
· Inventory count support
Audit & Tax Support:
· Preparation of clean PBC schedules
· Organize support for audit and tax filings
Other Support:
· Reconciliation, review, and processing of employee expenses
· Ability to research, track, and resolve accounting problems
· Associated administrative and reception duties
· Professional communication with management, customers, and vendors
Qualifications & Experience:
· Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting or bookkeeping role
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Sharepoint, etc.)
· Experience with Infor Visual or other ERP systems is considered an asset
· Knowledge of accepted accounting rules (GAAP, ASPE) as it relates to Accounting Assistant responsibilities
· Experience working for a manufacturing or capital-intensive company is considered an asset.
