Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) or Behavior Technician (BT) – ABA Services (Home-Based)
Introduction:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavior Technician to join our team and provide high-quality care and education to children in-home. They will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment, planning and implementing ABA programs, data collection, and communicating with parents about their child's development and progress. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and be able to work collaboratively with others.
Position Summary:
Required Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s preferred)
- Recent experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or related developmental disabilities in a direct care capacity preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year experience required in the field of ABA
Certifications, Clearances, Insurance:
- RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) certification (Preferred)
- CPR and First Aid certification (Required)
- TB test Clearance (Required)
- Pass Background check (Required)
- Driver’s license (Required)
- Proof of automobile insurance (Required)
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of ABA principles, techniques, and research.
- Ability to assess, analyze, and interpret behavior data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex ABA concepts to families and staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Ability to maintain a professional, compassionate, and positive approach in a variety of settings.
- Travel to multiple work sites; reliable transportation required
Key Responsibilities:
- ABA Therapy: Understand and implement individualized treatment plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
- Direct Support: Provide direct support and behavioral interventions to children with ASD and other neurodevelopmental differences in 1:1 settings.
- Data Collection & Documentation: Fulfill all documentation requirements including the use of data collection, completion of session notes, and reporting client progress to supervising BCBA
- Skill Development: Teach clients essential skills such as communication, socialization, self-care, and academics through structured interventions.
- Work under supervision of BCBA: Work closely under the supervision and guidance of a BCBA, have regular communication and collaboration.
- Collaboration with Families: Foster positive relationships with clients and their families by maintaining open communication, providing regular feedback on client progress, and encouraging family involvement in therapy.
- Follow Protocols & Ethical Standards: Adhere to the ethical guidelines of ABA therapy and ensure confidentiality and respect for client privacy.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and meetings with the BCBA to review progress and make necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. if necessary.
- Comfortable working in a home setting, with flexibility to travel between client homes.
