Land Development Department Manager

We are looking for a Land Development Department Manager to join our Kansas City team.
The Land Development Department Manager will lead teams of engineers to manage and execute Land Development projects in and around the Kansas City area.
Provide leadership and growth opportunities for the Land Development department, including financial management, customer service, and client management.
Create and monitor project scope, design schedules, design budget, and design contracts.
Collaborate with the Office Manager and Human Resources team in regards to staff recruitment, mentoring and training, performance, reviews, and compensation.
Champion OWN’s five guiding principles through establishing a culture of ownership, responsiveness, mutual success, and fun.
Implement company/department standards and processes while enforcing quality control requirements
Assess projects to reduce and manage risk
Monitor each team member’s performance and provide mentorship, coaching, and performance improvement plans as needed
Collaborate with IT to ensure that the team is well resourced and trained in the latest technological tools and equipment.
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred
Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri preferred
10-15 years of engineering experience focused in Land Development projects
Experience in business development activities such as managing client relationships, pursuing new project opportunities, and developing lasting client relationships
Experience in project management activities such as determining project requirements, establishing scope of work, and determining design budgets.
Extensive experience in leading teams preferred
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
