Job Summary:

The Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions will actively support Vertava Health’s strategic plan through strategic relationships and inorganic expansion. The VP of Mergers and Acquisition will be responsible for scanning the landscape for market trends and disruptions that create growth opportunities for Vertava Health as well as creating a pipeline of actionable opportunities and overseeing the deal process from start to finish

Priority responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for preliminary external opportunity assessment, intelligence gathering, and analysis of acquisition opportunities

  • Prepares documented analysis to present and recommend business opportunities to Chief Development Officer and the executive leadership team

  • Represents Vertava Health in the behavioral health community cultivating relationships to attract business opportunities to the organization and foster strategic partnerships

  • Leads analysis across markets and portfolio to determine potential growth opportunities

  • Performs a valuation of the target company and determines the appropriate legal and tax structure for the deal

  • Coordinates and interacts with executives (internal and external), business leaders and Board members to negotiate a variety of transactions and structures, including acquisitions, investments, and other acquisition or divestiture structures

  • Maintain relationships between the firm and sources of deal flow (e.g., investment banks)

  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis as necessary

Other duties as assigned

Requirements by state:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or finance (MBA preferred)

  • 10 years' minimum experience required (2-5 years of experience preferably at a private equity firm, consulting firm or within a development role at a fast-growing company)

  • Experience in multi-site healthcare expansion and transactional expertise, including management, control, direction, and oversight of the due diligence process throughout the states of the transaction

  • Ability to work in a cross functional environment, as well as the ability to handle multiple transactions and manage a pipeline of deals and other activities on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to use hands and fingers, talk or hear

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk and reach continually. Ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch frequently

  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Close vision required to see computer monitor, read documents, and operate copy and fax machine

  • Work environment is indoors and climate controlled. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions
