Lead Maintenance Technician

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Oversee maintenance staff, provide training, assign daily tasks, and ensure compliance with safety policies (e.g., OSHA, LOTO).
  • Maintenance & Repair: Perform skilled repairs, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and execute schedules to keep equipment and buildings functional, reducing emergency repairs.
  • Inventory & Logistics: Track, order, and manage inventory of parts, supplies, and tools.
  • Administrative Duties: Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to document work orders, submit reports, and track vendor work.
  • Resident/Facility Service: Respond to service requests, often handling complex or urgent issues personally. 
Key Qualifications
  • Experience: 3–5+ years of maintenance experience, often with a focus in residential (apartment), commercial, or manufacturing settings.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in HVAC/R, electrical systems, plumbing, and building systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to mentor junior technicians, communicate effectively with management, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Certifications: EPA certification for HVAC repairs is commonly required, along with Certified Pool Operator (CPO) if applicable.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
