001I - Seasonal Equestrian Care and Facilities Maintenance (DANA)

 Job Purpose

This position assists with horse care, riding lessons, stable/land maintenance for the District ensuring a positive and safe environment for the public and animals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 ·         Perform basic farm and stable chores; includes cleaning stalls, dispose of manure, mow and fertilize horse pastures, feed and water of animals

·         Provide maintenance to fence, building, painting, mowing, trimming, etc.

·         Serve as a positive role model for volunteers, staff, and the public

·       Perform other duties as required

Education and Experience Required

Additional Information:Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

Hours: May 28th - August 10th; 40 hours/week; may include weekends

Related Experience:  Experience in daily care, handling, riding, and maintenance of equipment.

Special training or other license, certification,etc.: Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Skills In: Dealing effectively with the public; communicating effectively verbally and in writing; interpreting rules and regulations; knowledge of District rules, and policies and safety procedures; ability to work independently exhibiting characteristics of responsibility, patience, dependability, maturity, and display a positive attitude.

                                                                        National Sex Offender Registry Check
