Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to each and every guest. 
  • Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and check out guests at the end of their stay.
  • Answer phones and field calls. 
  • Make reservations from the internet and by phone and keep records of assignments and other registration-related information on the computer using the property management system.
  • Answer guest questions about services, checkout times, the local community or other matters of public interest.
  • Perform night audit as dictated by the property management system and accounting.
  • Deliver items to guests’ rooms.
  • Input data into the hotel’s property management system. 
  • Stressful situations are common. 
  • When guests check out, you will prepare and explain the charges and process payments.
  • Report problems with guest rooms and public facilities to members of housekeeping or maintenance staff.
  • Provide luggage service when needed. 
  • Willing to perform other job-related tasks that may not be included in this job description, including, but not limited to:
    • Performing a perimeter check of the premises
    • Securing entrances and exits
    • Walking each guest floor during the night shift
    • Escorting anyone that is not a hotel guest off the premises
    • Judge different situations as to their severity and call the authorities when needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Prior front desk/hospitality experience (including previous experience running audits) is required
  • Computer skills- Property management systems, Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to work at nights – shift runs from 10:00pm – 6:00am (or 11:00pm to 7:00am).
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays depending on occupancy and time of year
  • A professional appearance and good personal hygiene must be maintained at all times
  • An ability to handle oneself under pressure
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills and be able to work independently and also as a member of a team.
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 5-8 hours)
  • Knowledge of Southern Oregon and surrounding areas is preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
