Job Location: Washington, DC (Remote)


Support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program as a Community Care Solution Advisor. Primary activities include the following: manage, track, and provide logistical and programmatic support to Community Care Workgroup Chair(s) and Members while working in a matrixed environment; support management of service tickets; interface with sites to validate workflows and processes; perform cross-council coordination to expedite issue resolution; facilitate collaboration between the Council Chair(s), Cerner, and the EHRM IO Council Command Center; take meeting minutes to capture the technical information, requests, and design decisions. Work with Cerner and VA in build/design/workflow changes. Assist in the review of training manuals and job aids delivered by Cerner. Assist and support in designing cutover/go live planning and post go live support. 

Basic qualifications:

  • Must have 5 years of professional experience, 8 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for education
  • A Senior Information Architect plans, designs, and oversees deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures including computer hardware and software, operating systems, middleware, communications hardware and software, and security components
  • Must ensure these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures as they apply to the implementation and specification of complex information management solutions
  • Community Care Referral Management and Intra Facility Consultation experience
  • Working knowledge of referral management processes
  • Experience in Authorization Management, Eligibility Management, and Scheduling
  • Supports business case analysis and identification of alternative solutions and resulting business impacts
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field

Additional qualifications:

  • Experience in the VA
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records
  • Supports all program/project planning and milestone development
  • Can identify necessary interfaces between enterprise solution applications and legacy IT environments
  • Experience validating and testing various EHR capabilities/solutions and assessing impacts, preferably with Cerner
  • Experience with planning, design, and oversight of deployment of complex enterprise-wide or large-scale information architectures including EHRs (Electronic Health Records) software
