Position Overview: 

The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for working as a team member to develop, manage and successfully implement social media content and promotions that increase attendance, revenues, and sales of ArtsQuest cultural activities, events, and merchandise. The Social Media Coordinator will work with Director of Database Systems Management to develop client lists and data bases.  The Social Media Coordinator is the principal content manager for all ArtsQuest’s social media and email marketing. 


  • In collaboration with the Sr. Director of Marketing and Marketing Coordinator, creates and manages social media promotions for all ArtsQuest programs and events.
  • Collaborates with Sr. Director of Marketing to develop, implement and manage organization’s social media strategies and efforts, including but not limited to content aggregation and creation, scheduling, and publishing of posts across multiple platforms, as well as digital conversation management.
  • Develops demographic and interest-specific contests and promotions designed to support organizational goals of individual programs.
  • Works with Marketing, Programming, Sponsorship, and Development staff to manage organization’s email marketing campaigns, from strategy to content creation, aggregation, and delivery.
  • Collaborates with the Lead Creative and Graphic Designer in the creation of marketing materials, from aggregation of analytics to copywriting, strategy, and distribution.
  • Collaborates with the Web Content Specialist in content management of ArtsQuest’s diverse websites, from copywriting and content aggregation, to editing and posting directly to websites.
  • Works with sponsors to develop promotions that enhance the value of sponsorship while providing benefits to the organization and its patrons.
  • Works with the Sr. Membership Manager to market and promote memberships and the membership campaign.
  • Works with the Retail department to enhance merchandise sales including gift certificates and cards.
  • Member of team that organizes and staffs all external and internal promotional events.
  • Works closely with Marketing staff in the production of printed materials, including programs, brochures, and print advertisements; all electronic marketing materials, including radio and television advertisements; and all ArtsQuest websites.
  • Participates in the manning of the Musikfest Media center during all ArtsQuest events.

 Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • BA in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or at least 2 years of relevant business experience in Marketing, Public Relations or Social Media
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, sponsors, patrons, the media, members, and volunteers both verbally and in writing
  • Collaborative work style: ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite in a PC environment.
  • Working knowledge of basic HTML/CSS and digital marketing, website development, social media, and e-mail marketing.
  • Goal driven, attention to detail, and a creative problem solver
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and to problem solve, identify opportunities for increasing revenue and reducing costs, maximizing our return on investment(s) and increasing our bottom line in order to promote the sustainability of the organization.
  • Experience working with Sponsorships, with Sponsor Fulfillment in a non-profit is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; excellent time management skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to see, speak, hear, sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and lift maximum of up to 20 pounds occasionally with or without assistance; Must be physically able to walk measurable distances for extended periods of time during events and festivals
  • A passion for the arts; sense of humor, sense of fun
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, holidays, and weekends when necessary; some extended and irregular hours will be required from time to time.
  • Ability to work with minimal daily supervision, concentrate on and accomplish tasks despite frequent interruptions; and work in an organized and timely manner to meet all deadlines
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English; bi-lingual ability in Spanish or other language is a plus.

Employee is frequently required to travel between our facilities, all within 1 mile of one another using reliable transportation. Employee may be required to travel offsite for business meetings, marketing and promotional opportunities as needed.

A salary range has been established and will be discussed with qualified candidates. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, term life, and disability insurance, as well as a 403(b) retirement-savings plan. We offer a generous paid time off policy as well as discounts on select visual arts and education programs, concerts, comedy and cinema, festivals, and events.
