Reports to: Vice President of Finance & Controller

What you’ll do:

  • Manage monthly financial close process interacting with all levels ensuring costs are properly recorded, review journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation.
  • Empower the team, embrace change, and enjoy working in an environment where change is encouraged, and an impact can be made.
  • Oversee, coach, and mentor the accounts payable specialist, revenue and reporting staff accountant, and accounts receivable staff accountant.
  • Oversee deadline driven workloads involving fiscal decisions.
  • Prepare summary feedback of financial statements variances to budget.
  • Ensure daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual subsidiary ledgers are accurately maintained.
  • Drive and participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies through implementation of process and system changes.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance with internal control policies in regular and Single Audit environments
  • Assist with compilation of information for preparation of tax returns.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings such as sales tax, amusement tax, and foreign performer tax withholding.
  • Assist in delivering monthly financial reports; streamline reporting and provide executive summary, analysis and recommendations as requested.

What you need to thrive in this role:

Our Senior Manager of Accounting should have strong leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and work proactively to drive results while remaining flexible with a high level of integrity in a collaborative environment.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting is required. 
  • 6+ years of experience in all aspects of accounting (nonprofit preferred, but not required), including 4+ years managerial experience.   
  • Proficient in GAAP accounting essential. 
  • Project/Process Management.
  • Proven ability to manage, build, and mentor a team.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality. 
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to build and enhance internal and external relationships.
  • Experience with complex accounting environment / ERP system is a must.
  • Technically competent; spreadsheet and analytical skills, proven computer proficiency.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of accounting systems, reporting, and planning (budget) tools, (e.g., Financial Edge, MAS90, Great Plains, Oracle, JD Edwards, Cognos, etc.).
