POSITION SUMMARY: A Commercial Facilities Manager maintains and oversees the company’s grounds, buildings, and equipment to ensure that a workspace is safe and functional. Their duties include inspecting facilities to meet safety regulations and coordinating renovations and updates. The facilities manager will also be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure optimal operating results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/SKILLS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

- Oversee building and grounds maintenance and assists in effectively planning, scheduling and evaluating preventative maintenance programs.

- Ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to all Company and Engineering department policies, standards and procedures.

- Oversees and supervises the quality of work for other employees to ensure that all tasks are performed correctly, efficiently, and effectively. Manages and reviews service contracts.

- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections. Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.

- Assists in managing the physical equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.

- Keeps equipment maintained and operating at optimum effectiveness, efficiency and safety.

- Conducts and documents regular facilities inspections. Checks completed work by vendors and contractors.

- Recommends maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design modifications.

- Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.

- Understands and complies with loss prevention policies and procedures.

- Communicates performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position and monitors progress.

- Brings issues to the attention of the VP of Engineering and Construction Development as necessary.

- Performs other duties as assigned to meet business needs.

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Strong project management skills

- Ability to professionally lead others

- Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and safety practices, and ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings

- Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted

- Excellent problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

- Proficiency in basic mathematics and conversation of measurements
