About the Company

The Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations is a 24/7 youth residential treatment facility which provides a safe and caring healing environment for adolescent patients ages 13 to 17, and multi-disciplinary healthcare professional team.  Located on 51 acres, our wellness program provides a peaceful environment for treatment balanced in traditional, cultural and spiritual values and practices. These values and practices foster respect, honesty, generosity, strong cultural identification and hope for positive life changes.  The Healing Lodge treatment program integrates traditional, spiritual and cultural values with chemical dependency and mental health counseling to create a holistic approach toward healing.  Residents include both Native American and non-Native from all areas of the country.

 

About the Position

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager.  The Human Resource Generalist supports the Human Resources department in areas such as in Recruitment, Employee Communications, Employee Events, Personnel Status Transactions, Employee Benefits, Onboarding, HRIS, and Federal/State/Local reporting and legal compliance. Understands and promotes employee retention and commitment to the mission of the Healing Lodge of the Seven Nations.  COVID vaccinations and Boosters are required for 24/7 youth residential treatment center environment and up to 80 employee healthcare professionals and support staff.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1.      Responsible for new hire documents and recordkeeping including (but not limited to) I-9’s, W-2’s, identification, Healing Lodge policy acknowledgements, new hire documentation, etc.

  1. Coordination and/or assists with recruitment, scheduling of interviews, and facilitate onboarding including
  2. Conducts credentialing and education verification, personal/employment background and reference checks, etc.

4.      Prepare HR documentation and tracking as required for compliance. 

5.      Utilize HRIS system to input and maintain data and employee records.   

6.      At request of HR Management create reports and analyze data such as training audit, benefit enrollment review, payroll reports, leave reports, etc. 

7.      Post job vacancies and advertisements, and routinely refresh job postings, and assists in creating and updating job descriptions. 

8.      Notifies Department Directors of performance reviews and assists with the preparation of the performance review forms.

9.      Assists with enrollment, changes and terminations of employees in voluntary benefit plans (medical, dental, vision and life insurance), and COBRA administration. 

10.   Coordinates and implements employee benefits fair, recognition events, holiday parties and any other events/projects sponsored by HR.

11.   Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping employee and Healing Lodge information confidential.

12.   Builds applicant sources by researching and contacting professional organizations, colleges and universities, community services, diversity listings, Internet sites, etc.

13.   Review applications received for minimum requirements and restrictions prepares position application packets for Department Director review and approval to proceed with interviews and e hiring processes.

14.   Maintains and updates recruitment files, tracks and updates EEO & Affirmative Action data and reports.

15.   Updates and maintains on an annual basis Vehicle DMV and Insurance information.

16.   Review and prepare employee files for annual audits ensuring all required hardcopies are in the employees file (signed) and electronic information is accurate and up to date. 

17.   Coordinates and provides benefit orientations and open enrollment meetings as needed, an in conjunction with New Employee On-Boarding training.

18.   Assists with special projects or assignments as needed.

19.   Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The HR Generalist supervises the HR office and personnel/temps in absence of HR Manager.

 

Education and/or Experience:

·         Possess Associates degree from an accredited university in business administration, human resources, organization development or related field

·         Possess three years or greater progressively advanced Human Resource experience working in a HR Generalist capacity which demonstrate considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources.

·         Experience working with HRIS systems required.

·         Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft office suite (Outlook, Word and Excel are used by the Healing Lodge) and E-human resource software app.

 

Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:

·         Possess HR Generalist Certification, preferred

·         Possess SHRM Certification

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

·         Working knowledge of employment law including applicable State and Federal labor law requirements and regulations. Preferably in Healthcare field.

·         Knowledge of employee relations and investigation practices.

·         Knowledge and experience cultivating a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion.
