Network Administrator







Position Summary

Under general direction of the Infrastructure Manager, the Network Administrator will work within a team to design, support, and maintain the network, telephony, and system infrastructure including the LAN/WAN, switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, VoIP, servers, virtualization, email, storage, and backup and replication. The Network Administrator will primarily focus on the LAN/WAN but will also be involved in all data center functions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


1.      Installs, configures, and maintains all network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and any other devices comprising the overall network infrastructure.

2.      Responsible for all routing and switching configuration changes.

3.      Configures and maintains analog and VoIP telecommunications, including voicemail and instant messaging.

4.      Works with external vendors and service providers to maintain Internet circuits, phone service, DIDs, etc.

5.      Proactively monitors the network, servers, and storage devices to identify how performance can be improved.

6.      Implements and tests disaster recovery procedures as it relates to the availability of the network, telephony, server, and storage infrastructure; works closely with other members of the team on revising the plan as needed.

7.      Monitors and resolves any branch or ATM/ITM network connectivity issues; escalates and works with service providers when necessary.

8.      Maintains accurate inventory of hardware and detailed network diagrams and data center layout.

9.      Installs, configures, and maintains both a physical and virtual server infrastructure utilizing one or more hypervisors such as VMware.

10.  Responsible for the enterprise domain structure (Active Directory).

11.  Responsible for the administration of Microsoft Exchange online.

12.  Responsible for the enterprise data backup and replication.

13.  Responsible for the evaluation and implementation of new technology solutions.

14.  Ensures all work-related tasks are accounted for utilizing ticketing system.

15.  Adheres to the BSA policy and all other bank policies.

16.  Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or another related field, OR relevant Information Technology experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 5+ years of experience working with mid-to-large sized networks and data center environments.
  • Experience with Juniper and Fortinet highly preferred.
  • Experience with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and RADIUS.
  • Experience with VoIP concepts, cloud-based experience preferred.
  • Experience with network security, firewall management, ACLs, VPN, VLANs, port security, SNMP, etc.
  • Experience working with layer-2 networks, MPLS, site-to-site VPNs, SD-WAN, as well as other network connectivity designs.
  • Experience working with various routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP.
  • Experience maintaining backup and replication, including disaster recovery design and testing.
  • Experience working in a virtualized environment, VMware or AHV preferred.
  • Experience maintaining a VDI environment, Citrix preferred.
  • Experience maintaining Microsoft Office 365.
  • Solid understanding of change management concepts and practices.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication, documentation, and collaborative skills.
  • CCNA/CCNP highly preferred.
  • JNCIA/JNCIS highly preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ highly preferred.
  • Background and credit clearance required.
