Construction Estimator


As an Estimator, you will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data in order to estimate the time, money, materials and labor associated with the construction of General Contracting services. 

You will be responsible for determining the resources needed to effectively and efficiently deliver high quality commercial and light industrial construction projects and to monitor those ongoing resources for accuracy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty to a high standard;

  • Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates
  • Reads blueprints, plans and specifications to determine job requirements
  • Develops estimates and bids for construction projects within a timely manner
  • Completes take-off according to specifications to develop competent and competitive bids for projects
  • Reviews estimates and revisions for completeness and accuracy
  • Inputs take-off data into company estimating system tools
  • Partners with project managers, communicates effectively with vendors and subcontractors
  • Maintains cost estimating tools by keeping data current in estimating system or spreadsheets
  • Attend pre-bid conferences, provide clear and detailed quantity take-offs, issue Invitations To Bid (ITB);
  • Assemble bids from sub-contractors and vendors, verify scopes, negotiate work;
  • Management of Project Buy-out to include; Subcontract Agreements, Purchase Orders, and Scheduling; 
  • Further develop the supply chain of sub-contractors and vendors across all markets and properly qualify;
  • Assist with business development of new and existing customers;


  • College Degree, Strongly Preferred in Building Science
  • A minimum of 2-5 years’ experience successfully estimating construction projects
