The Chief Engineer position requires a highly organized, personable, service-oriented individual with a high level of property maintenance knowledge. Position has overall responsibility for maintaining the public building, residential units, and grounds with attention towards safety and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Develops and implements strategies that will deliver products and services, which meet or exceeds the needs and expectations of the members, owners and employees while maximizing the financial performance. Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues. This position will also be responsible for directing work plans for the maintaining luxury homes in the Lodging and Residential Service programs. In addition, communications between the operations team, housekeeping, vendors, members and guests related to day-to-day residential home operations. Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Manages the club including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Administer service contracts to support property needs.
Aid and instruct contractors in scheduling work, ordering material, and completing assignments by a specified date. May estimate, requisition, and inspect materials.
Coordinate all inspections of the fire safety systems including extinguishers smoke alarms etc. to maintain proper safety standards. Ensures fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment and alarms
Manage energy expenses and continually work towards energy conservation.
Develop an engineering operating strategy that is aligned with the property/brand’s business strategy.
Develops and manages the Property Maintenance budget
Respond to employee emergency situations using information contained in M.S.D. sheets. Keep M.S.D. sheets current and easily available (with Housekeeping Manager).
Establish ongoing training for the department.
Establish and implement standard operating procedures for the department.
Oversees execution of long-term preventative maintenance and 10-year asset protection plans
Participates in the development of department’s capital expenditure goal; manages projects as needed
Create memorable and elevated experiences for guests and members through extraordinary customer service.
Assist in matters related to member, owner, or guest services, satisfaction, and resolutions. Resolving all complaints in a timely manner.
Identify, schedule and follow up on maintenance issues related to luxury homes and club facilities.
Prepare monthly maintenance billing for owner statements
Manage and coach the engineering leadership team to effectively manage controllable expenses (e.g.wages, heat, light and power, water consumption, tools and equipment, grounds keeping supplies, uniforms, vendors, service agreements, inventory, etc.)
Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline all Engineering personnel according to company standards.
Ensures that clear, consistent communication takes place throughout the engineering operation to communicate daily operations activities, set expectations and create awareness of business objectives.
Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers employees and other departments to ensure a seamless experience for all parties.
Ensures compliance with state, local and federal regulations
Ensures building and equipment licenses, permits and certifications are current
Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Lodging and General Manager.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
State of Montana Property Manager License (secure within 90 days).
Knowledge of State of Montana accommodations laws.
Management experience required with a proven track record in managing an efficient work force focusing on preventative maintenance of the asset's public areas, residential spaces, and physical property.
