Position Title:     Business Systems Analyst – ERP

Reporting to:      IT Manager


Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst - ERP primarily focuses on supporting the Photon ERP and PLM systems. The position is a liaison between technical personnel and end-user departments while evaluating and translating requirements to technical associates and/or vendors where appropriate.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot application issues by investigating root cause and implement resolution
  • Review current processes to suggest and implement automation or re-designing 
  • Translate high-level business requirements on multiple, complex requests into detailed functional and system specifications
  • Support all business systems including material scheduling, shipping & receiving, barcode scanning and database systems
  • Administer/maintain the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) related sub-systems: databases, scanners, portals, web services etc.
  • Gathering requirements from multiple sources and distilling those requirements into a single set of documented needs
  • Collaborating with business users to understand their challenges and being able to solve those
  • Register, collect details, troubleshoot, update, provide solutions and resolve routine issues using IT Helpdesk system and escalate issues as needed in a timely manner
  • Work with system users and IT professionals (internal/external) to close incidents, introduce changes and complete projects in live, development and test environments
  • Facilitate and lead inter-departmental communication related to Business Application requirements
  • Manage and coordinate full cycle IT and Business system projects 
  • End-user support on key Business applications including training, troubleshooting, and creating documentation for training guides, process flow charts, etc.
  • Apply technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of the data; process, design, and present data to help people and business make effective decisions
  • Ongoing support to ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements
  • Assess tests, implement new or upgraded software and assist with strategic decisions on new systems
  • Evaluate changes and updates to source production systems
  • Provide technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing


Experience, Education and Designations:

  • 5 years of experience with PLM (Arena preferred), ERP systems (Epicor preferred)
  • 3 or more years of business process mapping experience
  • Experience configuring, implementing, administering, and maintaining enterprise systems while collaborating with IT stakeholders and multiple vendors
  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology or computer information systems required
  • Familiarity with ERP modules (Vendors, Purchasing, Receiving, Materials, Inventory, Manufacturing, Shipping, Customers, Accounting, Finance, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Project management experience is an asset
