Do you want to make a difference by saving lives?  Want to work for a not-for-profit?  Miller-Keystone Blood Center helps to save lives every day by providing blood products to hospitals in NJ and PA. This position is responsible for the oversight of all financial functions of the Blood Center, including proper controls over financial reporting and operational spending. The position also is responsible for financial budgets and forecasts as well as all financial analysis of capital expenditures and business decisions for the Blood Center, including product pricing.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

·        Budgeting: Creates and adheres to realistic budgets in a manner that helps achieve the organization's objectives. Tracks expenses against the budget frequently enough to make adjustments in optimum time.

·        Cost Awareness: Demonstrates an ongoing awareness of budget levels and the ramifications of exceeding them.

·        Contract and Lease Review for Operating facilities

·        Strategic Financial Input: Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e., evaluation of potential alliances acquisitions and/or mergers, ROI's, product pricing.

·        Forecasting: Evaluate and advise on forecasting of inventory, budgets, salaries, and other areas as required.

·        Financial Analysis: Provides timely and accurate financial analysis and financial reports to assist other members of senior management in making key decision and in managing their responsibilities.

·        Compliance: Ensures departmental compliance with all company standard operating procedures and policies, and external regulatory requirements, including all federal, state, and local regulations and all accrediting organizations.

·        Manages the Development (Fundraising) function through oversight and financial input.

·        Supervision: Supervises department staff. Assists staff with problem solving and conflict resolution as needed. Takes appropriate disciplinary action for infractions of policy. May counsel, suspend and recommend termination according to established policy. Interviews applicants and recommends for hire.

 

 

Education and Experience:

 

Bachelors in Accounting- Required

Minimum of 5 years of Accounting Management or Related Experience-Required

 

 

Qualifications

·        Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

·        Detail-Oriented

·        Establishes strong and appropriate relationships with Board, committees, staff, and clients

·        Possesses excellent communication skills, including technical writing, business reporting & oral communication

·        Excellent Leadership, leads by example

·        Solid analytical skills and the ability to interpret and use the data to make sound decisions
