Camp Science Instructor

Our Doylestown location is searching for a Camp Science and Environmental Discovery Instructor for the 2021 Summer Camp season! The ideal Camp Science Instructor candidate must have strong organizational/communication skills and the ability to write and adapt lesson plans to different age levels. Requirements for Camp Science Instructor:

• At least 18 years old

• 2 years of experience working with children

• Degree, completed or in progress, in science related field

• Experience teaching Science or STEM to children

• Ability to perform First Aid/CPR/AED/Emergency Oxygen (training will be provided)

• Must attend all camp training

Days/Hours Needed: Monday- Friday; 8:15AM-4:15PM  *This is a seasonal position from mid June to August*

Responsibilities for Camp Science Instructor:

• Instruct children of all ages (5 years -14 years) in Science and STEM

• Develop and implement daily activity plans according to provided camp objectives.

• Engage in Opening and Closing Ceremonies, and Fun Fridays.

• Organize and maintain camp supplies, and order supplies as needed.

• Adapt program activities according to camper’s needs

• Ensure program area is safe and clear of any hazards 

• Enforce all safety guidelines and emergency protocols 

• Identify and respond appropriately to camper behavioral issues and report all incidents to the Lead Counselor

Pay Rate: $10.00-$15.00/hour

*An individual YMCA membership is included with employment*
