Reporting to the Training Coordinator, the trainer will be responsible for delivering all operational training in the mining sector and ensuring the workforce's mastery of required skills. They will collaborate with various departments to maintain the quality standards of the training provided. The position holder will work a 7/7 schedule at the Windfall site.
Duties and responsabilities
•Always comply with occupational health and safety and environmental policies and regulations;
•Support colleagues in performing work safely and efficiently by sharing information, skills, and knowledge;
•Plan schedules for theoretical and practical training;
•Prepare training materials and documentation;
•Deliver training to employees individually or in groups in various formats (in-person, virtual, hybrid);
•Design and update online training content;
•Use digital tools to track and manage training;
•Contribute to the development of training content (learning materials, automated equipment, remote controls, tele-operation) in collaboration with other departments;
•Support operational objectives by respecting company values and adopting best practices as a role model;
•Contribute to continuous improvement of training methods;
•Maintain up-to-date certifications and knowledge of mining laws and regulations;
•Perform any other tasks related to the Trainer admin position that are relevant to the success of the project.
Required qualifications
•College or Professional in mineral extraction or any equivalent training/experience;
•Minimum 5 years’ experience as a trainer in underground mining operations;
•Experience working with First Nations (an asset);
•Bilingualism (French and English); will be required to work with English-speaking suppliers and workers (an asset);
•Valid Class 5 driver’s license;
•Possession of explosives permit;
•Successful completion of Mining Units 1-2-3-4-5 and 7.
Technical skills
•Varied experience in automated mining operations;
•Very strong computer skills (e.g. MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
•Extensive knowledge of mining equipment;
•Certification as a mining modules trainer (a strong asset).
