Under the direction of the Executive Chef and the Executive Sous Chef, the Banquet Chef de Partie’s primary role is to oversee the preparation and presentation of banquet meals, ensuring our guests are served the highest quality products. Duties associated with this role include directing cooks with preparing, cooking, and presenting banquet dishes and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen by assisting in all operations as required.  The Banquet Chef de Partie is responsible for adhering to and enforcing all health and safety standards. 

 

Responsibilities and essential job function include but are not limited to the following:

Areas of Accountability

·        Ensure the highest quality of the product by supervising and participating in the preparation of quality dishes

·        Ensure the consistency and quality of all meals created (seasoning, portion size, appearance)

·        Assist the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef with ordering and receiving of ingredients

·        Follow and enforce all health and safety standards and procedures

·        Inform the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef promptly and fully of problems or urgent matters

·        Follow and enforce all health and safety standards and procedures

·        Motivate employees in order to maximize employee productivity

·        Contribute to the morale and well-being of the kitchen team by exemplifying CREW values

·        Supervise, direct and train staff in the performance of their duties

·        Create a friendly, professional environment that inspires teamwork

 

Skills and Qualifications

·        Minimum 3 years experience in a culinary environment

·        Culinary certificate required

·        Excellent technical knowledge of contemporary cooking styles and ingredients

·        Sincere interest in creating exciting dishes that exceed the expectations of our guests

·        Organizational skills

·        Ability to take and give direction

·        Ability to prioritize

·        Strong oral communication skills

·        High level of product knowledge

·        Ability to maintain a level of professional urgency and momentum

Visa Requirements:  Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization
