Community Outreach Specialist
Legal Services of North Florida is a non-profit legal firm with approximately 90 staff members in six offices across sixteen counties in North Florida serving only low-income and vulnerable individuals and families and never charges a fee for services to clients. LSNF works to meet the legal needs of children, elderly, victims of abuse, and those with disabilities. LSNF’s priority areas of representation include support for families; preserving the home; maintaining economic stability; safety, stability and health; and serving populations with special vulnerabilities. These translate to cases involving Family Law, Housing, Public Benefits, Employment, Education, and Health Care issues.
Legal Services of North Florida has an opening for a Community Outreach Specialist in our Tallahassee location and is seeking candidates with the ability to work independently and in team environments to increase access to legal services for low-income and vulnerable individuals in our community in civil legal matters.
This person will work within our Leon COVID Legal Response Team to support community outreach, legal clinics, public relations and other aspects of LSNF’s work supporting those impacted by pandemic conditions. Applicants should be skilled proficient in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel, have excellent grammatical skills and computer skills. Experience with social media, graphic design or other public relations tools is a plus. Candidates should be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and work well in a team.
Entry level salary of $24,000 is negotiable, depending on experience. Position is full-time with a four-day workweek (35 hours). Comprehensive fringe benefits package includes: paid holidays, paid vacation (which after two years, increases to four weeks per year), and paid sick leave. After sixty days, employee is eligible for employer paid health insurance for employee & dependent children. Additional voluntary options of dental, vision, term life, and disability insurance are also available. After one year on employment, LSNF contributes 6% to employee's retirement plan.
