As a leader in telematics, fleet management, and wireless infrastructure, we are looking to add an energetic Human Resources Generalist (Recruitment) to our team in lovely Dartmouth, NS!

Reporting to the Vice-President, Shared Services.  The Human Resources Generalist (Recruitment) primary focus will be on the continued growth of our businesses – Frontier Technologies and Northern Business Intelligence. Key areas of responsibility include full-cycle recruitment; human resource planning; oversee safety programs; training and development; the analysis and improvement of HR metrics; and policy and procedure review. In addition to remaining current with all applicable provincial and municipal laws and regulations, this role requires the individual to adhere to and enforce all established Company policies and procedures and develop strong relationships with both managers and employees. 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Full cycle recruitment to meet the ever-expanding growth of both Frontier Technologies and Northern Business Intelligence.
  • Review, analyze and investigate current salary structures.
  • Assist in selecting new hires based on their knowledge, skills and abilities for salaried and people leader positions.
  • In coordination with VPs, provide insight for the organization's human capital needs, (including restructuring of departments, job descriptions and job requisitions).
  • Adhere to legislation such as the Human Rights Act and Labour Standards Act and ensures the company complies with Federal and Provincial laws.  Remain current with best practices, legislative changes and industry standards.
  • Spearhead Occupational Health and Safety initiatives to ensure we live by this crucial value.
  • Advise and assist departmental managers on the interpretation and administration of policies, programs and best practices.
  • Advise managers on organizational matters such as discrimination, discipline, harassment, etc. Provide them with the tools for performance management and progressive discipline processes.
  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting, and administering contracts and policies striving to resolve work-related issues.
  • With managers, conduct employee terminations and manage exit interviews.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts and renewals with benefits providers.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with employees and the management team.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

 REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree or post-graduate certificate in Business Administration, Human Resources Management or combined education and experience equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years' Human Resources experience in a Generalist role with focus on full cycle recruitment.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and e-mail required.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.  
  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure, as a part of a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work is a must.
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key external stakeholders.
  • Motivated individual with proven initiative.
