The Maintenance Manager is responsible for planning,
organizing and directing the activities related to maintenance, and repair, as
well as special projects for the facility. This position ensures compliance
with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, as well as
established policies and procedures.
Report directly to facility Administrator for daily
operational needs and reports to Executive Director of Facilities and Support
Services for regulatory guidance, long-range planning and special project

on-call maintenance technician or other VCS personnel needed to respond to the
issue. May have to return to the facility on off-hours to provide leadership, guidance
or additional manpower in the event of an emergency.

the establishment of preventive maintenance programs. Monitors and analyzes
departmental procedures and performance records relative to preventive and
remedial maintenance. Initiates changes to procedures to ensure optimal
performance of preventive and remedial maintenance and resultant operational efficiency.
as a member of the Safety Committee, may act as Chairperson. Develops and
administers ongoing safety programs related to the protection of the facility’s
residents, employees and visitors.
Performs inspections and audits, reports and initiates corrective action
or directs the preparation of departmental records as well as special reports
and analyses, ensuring they are complete, accurate and prepared on time.
Reviews and interprets these to determine the extent to which goals are being
attained; takes corrective action as necessary.
Department policies and procedures are current, accurate and in compliance with
all Laws and Regulations.

Minimum of five years of environmental service/maintenance
experience with a working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC
systems, construction techniques, various codes and regulations relating to
areas of responsibility, and sanitation standards and procedures preferred
Valid driver’s license required.
Bachelor degree in an environmental services or
maintenance related field preferred.
Previous environmental services/maintenance
experience in health care or long term care preferred.
