The Orchestral String Repair Technician is responsible
for skilled repairs, adjustments and maintenance on rental, school-owned and
customer-owned string instruments and bows.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ORCHESTRAL STRING REPAIR
diagnoses and repair needs on violin family of instruments.

school, or apprenticeship and work experience sufficient to obtain
- Aspects related to structural repair
- Aspects related to instrument setup
- Bow rehair and repair experience
- Fingerboard dressing
- Familiarity with various glues and their uses
- Finish repair and touchup
- Skill in using
tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of orchestral
common shop safety practices
- Must pass a
pre-employment proficiency bench test
● Employees must be able to work harmoniously
around other employees and safely with shop equipment
● Requires working with various cleaning and

up to a maximum of 50lbs
