Director of Nursing DNS

Cassena Care  is actively seeking a Director of Nursing (DNS) to join our dynamic team of professionals.  

Major job responsibilities for a Director of Nursing include but are not limited to, the following:

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements, evaluates and directs the Nursing Services Department, Staff Educator/Infection Control
• Supervise the nursing staff and inform them of new policies and procedures
• Recruitment, retention, and training of nurses
• Ensure that the legal procedures, nursing practices, and work standards are met as per facility policies and procedures and all regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with the healthcare facility management team in leading the clinical team
• Manage resident data and medical records.
• Participates in the administration of the health care facility as a full member of the executive team.
• Participates in the strategic and long range planning of the health care facility.
• Ensures the ongoing evaluation and innovation of services provided by organized nursing services and the organization, and promotes continuous quality improvement.
  
  
  Requirements of a Director of Nursing:

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to plan organize and implement policies and procedures
• Must have minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a nursing supervisor level in a health care facility- hospital or nursing facility
• Must be able to assist in emergency situations
