Janitor (PT)
The Janitor is
responsible for maintaining cleanliness inside and outside the building, as
well as performing general maintenance and minor repairs. This role requires
flexibility to take on non-routine cleaning tasks and special projects as
needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
- Clean windows and mirrors.
- Clean bathrooms and restock supplies such as soap and toilet paper.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas.
- Dust surfaces throughout the building.
- Empty trash and remove waste.
- Replace light bulbs as needed.
- Report unsafe conditions or the need for repairs to supervisor.
- Clean spills and other hazards using appropriate equipment.
- Organize and maintain janitorial storage areas.
- Assist with setup and cleanup for special events.
- Maintain outdoor areas such as the parking lot and break area by blowing grass, removing debris, and addressing hazards.
Essential Skills/Abilities
- Must understand and communicate in English for job-related instructions and safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Strong time management skills to work efficiently.
- Capable of performing routine maintenance on building systems.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous janitorial or maintenance experience is required
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Exposure to varying temperatures, including cold or extreme heat.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push/pull, and reach overhead for extended periods.
- Must physically handle climbing ladders, bending, or crawling in confined spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Schedule will be Monday-Friday, 9am-1pm
