Senior Project Manager


Position Summary:

CubicFarms is looking for a Senior Project Manager who is passionate about leadership, innovation and project management and has a Mechanical Engineering background. The Project Manager will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to gather input on critical project decisions in the upcoming Ag-tech industry. In addition, the Senior Project Manager will represent CubicFarms with all external engineering contractors to complete all phases of engineering development and project execution—from Project Definition to Detailed Design, Construction and Commissioning.

This role is critical for the development and successful implementation of challenging strategic projects. The successful candidate will be an experienced Senior Project Manager who has led multiple projects from project definition through detailed design and construction.


Education and Experience:

·        Bachelors Degree in the Mechanical Engineering field or equivalent experience required.

·        Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation or equivalent experience preferred.

·        Minimum 5 years of experience in a Senior Project Manager with leadership capacity.

·        Experience with manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, food processing, and agriculture an asset.

·        Customer facing experience


·        Extensive hands-on knowledge of engineering project management and execution

·        Strong organizational skills as demonstrated in your experience managing various projects and developing programs

·        Ability to build and nourish long-lasting relationships

·        You have an influential leadership style and a love for developing others

·        Skilled in the art of interacting with people at all levels of the company as well as external stakeholders

·        Strong knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and SharePoint

·        Great personal skills with exceptional communication and presentation skills

·        Demonstrated ability to interpret and negotiate with contracts

·        Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders - internal and external

·        Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize multiple projects

·        Strong skills in research methods and techniques

·        Strong analytical / problem-solving skills.

·        Ability to apply proper judgment while being creative in decision-making situations

·        Works well independently or working on a team environment

·        Ability to adapt to a changing work environment and priorities

·        Knowledge of and competency in construction management process required, including scheduling and resourcing, scope control quality management and record-keeping


  • Responsible for engaging with key internal stakeholders across the business to ensure adequate owners input into engineering deliverables for each project phase;
  • Consult with internal/external subject matter experts to resolve project issues and assure process safety, reliability, and operability in design;
  • Provide oversight on both the work process and the deliverables required for effective project execution;
  • Support the development of project resourcing, scheduling, and funding plans.
  • Provide work guidance to teams and regularly exercise independent judgement in analysis and problem solving on highly complex, undefined, and important scopes of work.
  • Submit engineering requests and set-up jobs with internal team members.
  • Assist with client-based responses to needs and requirements and provide technical advice.
  • Manage the engineering process from concept to completion and provide direction on solutions. During design phase, present preliminary designs to clients and communicate revisions to engineering.
  • Manage and oversee Mechanical engineering projects of various sizes and complexity
  • Analyze customer design proposals and specifications to determine cost effective solutions
  • Ensure professional quality services in all facets of work
  • Lead a project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables
  • Manage a team to ensure cost effective, safe and timely completion of projects to meet or exceed client expectations
  • Manage project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for success
  • Provide quality and cost control during the design and construction process
  • Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization.
  • Escalate and identify the need for additional services and fees.
