Position Summary The Lead Trainer/Instructor will oversee the training and development of school bus drivers and monitors, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. This role is ideal for a safety-first professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for teaching.

Key Responsibilities

• 🧑‍🏫 Lead and deliver classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new and existing drivers

• ✅ Ensure all training meets or exceeds DOT, FMCSA, and state-specific requirements

• 🔍 Conduct evaluations, ride-alongs, and performance assessments to ensure driver competency

• 📋 Maintain accurate training records and certification documentation

• 🤝 Collaborate with Safety, Operations, and HR teams to support driver onboarding and retention

• 🚨 Provide remedial training and coaching following incidents or policy violations

• 📢 Stay current on transportation regulations and update training materials accordingly

Qualifications

• 🚍 Minimum 3 years of experience as a school bus driver or trainer (CDL with S and P endorsements required)

• 🎓 Prior experience in adult education, training, or instructional roles preferred

• 🧠 Strong knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and school transportation safety standards

• 💬 Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

• 💻 Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or training management systems

• 🕐 Flexible schedule availability, including early mornings and occasional weekends
