Hourly wage:  $10.50; 37.50 hours/week

Summary of Responsibilities:

This Visitation Aide is responsible for supervising and transporting delinquent and/or dependent children and families for visitation appointments.  This may also include transporting custodial youth to appointments, court proceedings, and other necessary obligations. Duties are conducted in accordance with all existing policies, procedures, and regulations and in accord with the Mission and Values of the Company.

 Essential Functions:

  • Provide direct supervision and documentation of visitation sessions, including possible videotaping of visits.
  • Ensure the safety of the child throughout the supervised visit.
  • Assist in locating and maintaining visitation sites that are safe, family-friendly geographically diverse, and fiscally prudent.  
  • Work with Supervisor to schedule visits, transports, and escorts for clients to attend court, as needed.
  • Communicate with Supervisor regarding any need to refer outside of the Program.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the children and families served.
  • Develop effective working relationships with case managers, other providers, community members, and other identified stakeholders.
  • Travel to homes throughout the County and outside of the County as required for the purposes of supervising visits.
  • Prepare visitation notes and reports as required or requested by the county or court officials.
  • Prepare case information, correspondence, reports and maintains records as required.
  • Participate in team meetings, as necessary, to provide information for the use in treatment plans, goals and objectives.
  • Promote positive family interaction between parents and children.
  • Must be able to work at various times including the morning, afternoon/evening, and weekends.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and the ability to work independently.
  • Must complete all required training
  • Other duties so assigned.

Minimum Requirements (education, experience, etc.)

  • A high school diploma and 12 semester credit hours in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, or other social science and two years’ direct care experience in public or private human services.
  • A high school diploma and five years of direct care experience in public or private human services.
  • Ability to work at various times, including the morning, afternoon, evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrated computer skills to include word processing and spreadsheet.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, state, county, and other elected officials, providers, judges, courts, advocates, staff, consultants and consumers and their families.

Required Licenses, Certificates or Knowledge:

  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record check
  • Knowledge of most current computer technology
  • Medical screening clearance
  • Automobile
  • Act 33 and Act 34 clearances
  • FBI Fingerprint clearance
  • Social Security Card
  • Immigration and naturalization (I-9) clearance

Working Conditions:

  • In-office work performing concurrent varied tasks
  • Regular travel throughout the county.

Safety Hazards of the Job:

  • There will be an occasion during which it is necessary to have interaction with an aggressive consumer.
