Pool Supervisor
Department: Recreation
Reports To: Director of Recreation and Wellness or Recreation Manager
Salary: $18-$19.50/hour, commensurate with experience
Position Summary: Under the Direction of the Aquatics Program Coordinator, the pool Supervisor oversees the performance of the Lifeguard and Pool Support staff, communicates organizational needs, provides guidance, support and coordination of daily operation and activities Lakeside Pool. Activities include, but are not limited to, swimming lessons, staff scheduling, and special events. The supervisor is responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the pool facilities and grounds. This position is the primary liaison between seasonal pool staff, the Director of Recreation and Wellness, the Recreation Manager/ Aquatics Program Coordinator and Chief Operating Officer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Support the mission of Lakeside Chautauqua and a culture of belonging at the Grindley Aquatics and Wellness Campus
· Supervise all department staff and coordinates staff schedules to support open swim hours, programs, lessons, and events.
· Perform required chemical checks and collaborates with CPO to correct imbalances
· Coordinate a minimum of 2 hours of safety training and rescue drills every 30 days for all lifeguard staff, tracks lifeguards 300-yard weekly swim, and maintains all lifeguard standards
· Ensure that all certifications for employees are current and on file in the main office
· Maintain staff rotations and break periods and provides additional lifeguard surveillance as needed
· Ensure a safe facility and atmosphere for all guests and employees of the pool
· Maintain required signs stating safety rules, swimming hours, and regulations
· Organize and supervise daily/regular cleaning and maintenance of entire pool area including restrooms, deck and surrounding grounds
· Oversee that all Lakeside Chautauqua, Departmental, and Pool Facilities Rules and Regulations are adhered to
· Works to ensure all facilities and equipment are clean, organized and in good working condition and communicates immediately any facility maintenance, equipment needs or work orders
· Manage effectively all emergencies and First Aid situations
· Review and sign off on all incident reports and submit to HR within the same day
· Coordinate and ensure that all scheduling of lessons, programs, events, etc. is done accurately and efficiently
· Oversee daily operations, programs, special events, including lessons and special groups programming
· Complete and maintain accurate participant information for all programs
· File accurate financial records of all fees collected for classes and special events
· Manage cash drawer and reconcile daily and follows Lakeside daily deposit procedure.
· Communicate all weather and emergency related closures to Director of Recreation and Wellness
· Ensure customer relations and satisfaction are of highest priority and works to resolve all related issues tactfully, effectively, in a timely manner.
· Provide excellent customer service to ensure high quality experience, encourage repeat visitors and community participation in Aquatics programs and events
· Collaborate with Maintenance in coordinating opening and closing tasks each season
· Other duties as assigned by Director of Recreation and Wellness or Recreation Manager
Qualifications:
· College aged student or older with 3+ years related experience or training preferred
· Must have current Amercian Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR PRO certificate
· Knowledge and experience in staff supervision and/or pool management operation preferred.
· Swim Instructor or coaching experience preferred
· Proficient in Microsoft office software
· Strong ability to motivate and lead staff and students
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Exceptional communication and customer service skills
