What You'll Do

Daily Restaurant Operations

• Partner with the General Manager to oversee daily restaurant operations and ensure consistent execution of company standards.
• Lead shifts and coordinate front-of-house, back-of-house, and drive-thru operations.
• Monitor service speed, food quality, cleanliness, and overall guest satisfaction.
• Ensure proper opening, closing, and shift transition procedures are completed.
• Maintain restaurant readiness by overseeing food preparation, stocking, and operational checklists.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges to maintain efficient service.
• Support food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

Team Leadership & Development

• Supervise, motivate, and support Team Members during daily operations.
• Assist with employee training, onboarding, and ongoing performance development.
• Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and recognition to encourage strong performance.
• Help create a positive and supportive environment where employees feel valued and motivated.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and communicate daily goals, responsibilities, and expectations.
• Support the General Manager with staffing, scheduling, and employee performance management.
• Set a positive example through professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.

Operational & Administrative Support

• Assist with inventory counts, product ordering, receiving deliveries, and managing food waste.
• Monitor labor usage and support efficient staffing throughout each shift.
• Complete daily and weekly operational reports, checklists, and administrative tasks.
• Support cash handling procedures, register reconciliation, and deposits.
• Assist with maintaining accurate operational records and documentation.
• Monitor product availability and ensure proper preparation and inventory rotation.
• Work closely with the General Manager to identify opportunities to improve restaurant efficiency and performance.

Guest Service & Quality Standards

• Deliver exceptional guest service and ensure every customer has a positive experience.
• Address guest questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Serve as a local community brand ambassador, building strong relationships with schools, and community organizations to increase brand awareness, strengthen community engagement, and drive restaurant traffic.
• Maintain Slim Chickens' standards for food quality, presentation, and service.
• Ensure the restaurant remains clean, organized, and welcoming.
• Support a culture of genuine Southern hospitality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or food service leadership experience required.
• Experience as an Assistant Manager, Shift Manager, or similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to motivate employees and lead by example.
• Understanding of restaurant operations, food safety, and customer service standards.
• Ability to multitask and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn new systems, procedures, and management responsibilities.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
• Experience with POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling software preferred.
