Instructional Assistant

The Instructional Assistant (starting Fall 2021) is responsible for collaborating with Paraprofessionals in order to provide a high level of service to individuals with disabilities and fully implement their IEPs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:
- Inspires through active learning
- Assists students who struggle with social norms/expectations and sensory issues with learning needs
- Assists in training of Paraprofessionals
- Implements and monitors IEP and/or ISP goals
- Reviews and becomes familiar with all IEP’s for consumers served by the team
- Works closely with the team to develop programming ideas
- Assists in creating lesson plans and programming for students
- Assists in training staff on completing educational programming
- Provides direct service weekly with students and observes teams as needed
- Provide behavioral supports
- Provides accurate data reporting for behavior and IEP goals
Requirements:
- Associate degree or bachelor’s degree and one-year experience in I/DD or education field
- Possess and maintain Ohio Department of Education Instructional Assistant License for Ohio Autism Scholarship Program
- Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills
- Ability to think critically and creatively
- Ability to take initiative and follow through on tasks
- Possess and maintain First Aid and CPR training
- Pass and maintain all required DODD training offerings
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug test
- Possess and maintain a driving record with less than six (6) points
