Medical Assistant – Outpatient Behavioral Health Facility

Position: Medical Assistant
Location: Boardman, OH
Pay: $15.00 per hour

Introduction

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Medical Assistant to join our outpatient behavioral health team. The Medical Assistant will provide support to clinical staff and assist with day-to-day patient care activities, administrative tasks, and maintaining accurate medical records.

The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with patients, and able to provide a welcoming and professional experience for individuals receiving behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and assist clients during appointments

• Obtain and record vital signs and other clinical information

• Assist providers with patient intake and documentation

• Maintain accurate and timely medical records

• Assist with medication-related tasks as directed by clinical staff

• Coordinate communication between clients, providers, and administrative staff

• Assist with scheduling, referrals, and other clinical administrative duties

• Ensure patient information is handled in accordance with HIPAA regulations

• Prepare exam rooms and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment

• Support quality improvement and compliance activities

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required

• Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to interact professionally and compassionately with clients

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a behavioral health, medical office, or outpatient setting

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

• Experience obtaining vital signs and assisting with patient intake

• Experience working with insurance, referrals, or medical documentation
