The Rescue Driver-Tech is responsible for safely loading, transporting and unloading animals for weekly transport trips, as well as provide necessary services for the humane care of animals in our custody to include sanitation of animal housing areas, providing food, water and maintaining cleanliness of the assigned area.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


·         Disinfect floor, scale, and kennels in preparation for day’s activities.


·         Assist with playgroups as needed.


·         Disinfect crates to have available for transport as indicated by schedule.


·         Set-up vans for transport trips.


·         Remove crates, restock, and clean van interior after transport.


·         Medicate rescue candidates in our care.


·         Take photos, compose behavioral information and write notes


·         Move new medical rescue candidate and begin treatment.


·         Update medical and location records in PetPoint software.


·         Other duties as assigned by Rescue Facilitator or Rescue Assistant


Willingness to drive on Transport Trips a huge plus!


Qualifications & Physical Demands:

·         Strong organizational skills, human relations, and communication skills.


·         Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with the general public. 


·         Ability to work independent of supervision and meet deadlines.


·         Basic knowledge of animal species, breeds, and characteristics. Basic knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and humane care.


·         Ability to communicate the English language effectively in oral and written form.  Spanish preferred.


·         Clean driving record a plus, must pass a background check and drug screening.






Work Hours: Normal schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 9am-6pm, Friday 6am-3pm and Sunday 9am-4pm

The schedule may change depending on Rescue needs.



Education and/or Experience:


·         High School Diploma or G.E.D. required.


·         Intermediate software and computer knowledge.
