Responsibilities

  • Independently develop, implement, and validate new and novel in vitro cellular assays for compound screening, MOA characterization, and SAR development to drive therapeutic compound progression
  • Actively take part in the evaluation of new technologies, reagents, and improvement in assay methods
  • Attend, participate and present results at cross-functional project team meetings
  • Generate, analyze, and record high-quality data with software and database tools
  • Support managing, monitoring execution and performance of assay runs at CROs
  • Share experiences and skill sets with other scientists within the group
  • Maintain laboratory records, and contribute to laboratory organization and maintenance

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. education in cell biology, biochemistry, or other related disciplines with 0 – 3 years of industry experience, BS/MS in a similar field with 5-10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in the areas of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer biology is a plus.
  • Experience with a broad range of cell-based technology platforms, instrumentation, and data analysis software is required
  • Proficiency in mammalian cell culture techniques is essential.  Experience in cell engineering (e.g. stem cell culture and differentiation, CRISPR, viral transduction) is preferred

  • Experience in drug discovery, small molecule compound profiling, and automation is preferred
  • Experience and successful history of performance in a cross-functional team environment preferred
  • Self-motivated, desire to learn, and strong work ethics required
  • Attention to details, time management skills, and excellent communication skill
