The Electrical & Automation Engineer will be responsible for problem solving activities for complex issues that involve controls/electrical/automation systems and associated equipment, as well as key interface with manufacturers and integrators that supply controls/automation solutions to the company. The successful candidate will have a strong desire to add value to projects and getting the job done effectively and efficiently in the ag-tech space.

  • Support new and existing product development including researching components and consulting partners in collaboration with product management.
  • Responsible for the creation of business plans to support global process engineering initiatives and projects.
  • Responsible to stay connected to the trends in manufacturing automation and controls through industry publications and conferences; transfers knowledge of technology trends and methodologies to our operations across the company.
  • Perform detailed analysis for executive review able to effectively communicate up and down
  • Communicate engineering requirements with factory including: Releasing new and updated products, R&D and sample creation, production issues and problem solving, ensuring manufacturing accuracy (Quality), communication translation if necessary, supporting sales and marketing with CAD and Inventor drawings, develops manuals and processes for design, production and installation.
  • Work to design, build, test, and implement automation solutions for Select Energy Services.
  • Work with Technology team to troubleshoot and maintain existing automated assets.
  • Maintain and contributes to established PLC solutions for Select Energy Services.
  • Provide all aspects of support and work with a professional and positive attitude.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks with team or independently.
  • Protect operations by keeping information confidential
  • Confirm and QC’s technical and analytical work tasks by conducting tests; modifying as needed.
  • Maintain workflow and programming documentation for all work by writing and updating procedures
  • Analyze and improve current processes through manufacturing and production improvements.
  • Automate individual processes to model plant level, and groups of processes to full production level.
  • Analyze production workflow analysis to understand processes, identify issues, provide solutions, plan a new more efficient workflow, create a new set of instructions, and implement them to the workplace.


  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Automation, or Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering Designation Required
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience in this role, or a relevant role required.



  • Candidate will have expert understanding of automation processes and hardware/software.
  • Experience with SCADA systems, Problem solving/troubleshooting, PLC programming, HMI design/programming, Wireless design/programming, Network design/protocols, electrical control system.
  • PLC/HMI experience, Wiring diagnostics, advanced electronics, AutoCAD, SCADA systems, python, ladder logic, C++, SQL Databases, Ignition SCADA, Oil and Gas experience a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of weight and sit at a desk for long periods of time
  • Manual dexterity to operate specialized equipment
  • Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area
