Position Overview:

The Bar Director is responsible for providing effective leadership to drive sales, hospitality at the highest level, profitability, and long term growth by managing all aspects of the bar program with an entrepreneurial approach in conjunction with the Owner and the General Manager.

All aspects of our business will be done by promoting and living our value system, operating under our guiding principles and promises. These include daily operations, profitability, marketing, recruiting and development of their team at all levels.

We’ll expect you to build a team and lead by example while uplifting our staff in our fast-paced, hospitality focused environment.

Ultimately, you will ensure our restaurant runs smoothly, your team is informed, engaged and empowered and guests have pleasant dining experiences.


  • Create and Develop a Mid-Atlantic focused craft cocktail and beverage program
  • Creative control of the bar program
  • Curate the cocktail, wine, and beer lists
  • Train new staff (including technique, palate development, and service)
  • Work at least 4 shifts behind the bar
  • Manage business aspects of the bar such as negotiating supplier contracts, inventory, ordering, receiving, and maintaining proper bar COGS
  • Recruit, hire, train and continually build bar team
  • Build team schedules on a bi-weekly basis
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in promotional events
  • Maintain a clean, fun and safe atmosphere for guests and team
  • Analyze financial data to recognize trends and adjust accordingly
  • Ensure best practices, efficiencies and sales goals are achieved
  • Develop and institute clear opening and closing sidewalk and cleaning responsibilities


  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both with guests and team members
  • Advanced knowledge of wines, spirits, and beers
  • Advanced knowledge and execution of classic cocktails
  • Ability to create and develop craft cocktails
  • Advanced food, menu and service knowledge
  • Ability to learn new food and menu items on a daily basis
  • Proven work experience as a Craft Cocktail Bar Manager, Beverage/Hospitality Manager, and Bartender
  • Proven customer service experience as a manager
  • Extensive food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform guests and team members
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills
