Job Summary:

Supports the Museum mission of enriching lives through the visual arts by the creation and administration of a suite of programs for teachers and schools with particular attention to the development and launching of a new distance learning program.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Work collaboratively to develop the content and implementation strategy for the launch and growth of the OKCMOA’s new distance learning program to bring the museum’s collection to teachers and students around the state and the region beginning fall of 2020.

·         Steward the programs new distance learning initiative for K-12 audiences including content and program design, scheduling, technical support, teaching and training.

·         Build outreach campaign for distance learning programs in collaboration with other museum staff.

·         Lead the development of curriculum for school single and multi-visit programs

·         Connect with educators around Oklahoma to ensure OKCMOA’s programs and resources are current and fulfill their needs.

·         Collaborate with Manager/Head of Public Programs to ensure docent training meets needs of school tours

·         Participate in visitor research with other members of the learning and curatorial team to ensure we are meeting visitors’ needs and successfully communicating ideas in exhibitions, galleries, and programming.

·         Participate in Fundraising and Cultivation Activities as Assigned

·         Actively engage and maintain connections in museum professional networks, attends and presents at conferences, and serves in volunteer leadership positions in affiliated organizations. 

·         Additional Duties as Assigned



·         Master’s degree in Art History or Museum Education preferred

·         3-5 years of experience working in a museum preferably with school and teacher programs or distance learning programs


Required Knowledge and Skills:

·         Knowledge of art history and museum education theory and practice

·         Experience working with technology or digital learning platforms

·         Excellent written and communication skills

·         Experience as a gallery educator and/or giving public presentations

·         Knowledge of national education standards is a plus

·         Ability to speak Spanish a plus
