Driver/Day Treatment Assistant

Job Summary: Provides transportation services by driving the program van to and from the program to pick-up and drop off clients at the program on a daily basis. If scheduled to stay between driving shifts, the employee serves in a support role as needed and requested for the clients in attendance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides transportation for clients to and from the facility site.

Records appropriate daily information regarding vehicle travel and mileage, reports any malfunctions or areas requiring service to supervisor immediately.

Maintains cleanliness of vans.

Assists staff in provision of patient care in accordance with the individual treatment plan.

Observes and monitors patient’s progress and reports observations to appropriate staff.

Assists clients with activities of daily living skills.

Provides staff with relief coverage for break periods by appropriately supervising clietnts or answering telephones.

Assists with meal provision of the clients.

Maintains strict, professional relationship with all clients.

Maintains and ensures client confidentiality at all times.

Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements :

Must hold a valid driver’s license with clean driving record. Clean drug test prior to employment and annual follow up. One-year experience assisting in the care of mental health clients in an acute or ambulatory setting
