Hours:  Full Time 45-50 hours average per week

Earliest Start Time: 9am

Latest End Time: 4am

*Must be available to work a combination of shift hours between these times on weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Function:  Assists with the overall functions of the Lounge, Biergarten and Banquet Lounges.  Orders supplies and merchandise needed to operate efficiently and to maintain sales.  Inventories bar items on a periodic basis to check bar stock levels, helps with monthly inventories, monitors schedules and supervises all Bar personnel; upholds and enforces all policies of the Bavarian Inn Lodge and the liquor laws of the State of Michigan and the laws of the Department of Health.  Documents performance of employees for reviews and evaluations to insure a professional and motivated staff.  Develops ways to promote sales. Recommends ways to insure guest satisfaction; insures the safety and security of our guests, employees, and of all inventories and money.  Experiments with new ideas or menu items for monthly specials.  Monitors quality, professionalism and nightly schedules of entertainment featured in the Lorelei Lounge.  Spot checks inventory and calculate costs and sales to control theft as directed.  Responsible for the training of all new Lounge employees.  Assists with department meetings for the bartenders and for helping with the training of wait staff at their meetings to build their knowledge of Alcohol.  Assists with all the Events that are held in the Lounge as planned by the Lounge Manager.  Is knowledgeable with all the equipment in order to keep things functional and operational and knows who to ask for help or call in an emergency.

Basic Qualifications:

Associate degree or equivalent.

Minimum two years bartending and food service experience.

Knowledge of beer, wines, and liquor from brewing or distillation to final service in a Dining Room situation.

Managerial and training ability to motivate, train staff and to conduct evaluations and reprimands.

Basic understanding of costing, pricing and ordering techniques.

Ability to stand all day for 8-12 hours.

Ability to carry trays continually.

Ability to lift kegs into portable coolers.

Ability to lift moderate to heavy weight to transport cases of beer, wine and liquor.

Good math skills to handle money and calculate cost of goods.

Ability to use a computerized POS system.

Computer skills to be able to set up and document department and personal goals

Good verbal and written communication skills.
