Production and Revenue Accountant

Rife Resources is seeking a dynamic Production and Revenue Accountant to join our small, but high performing, PA Team. Reporting to the Team Lead, the candidate will be key in the development of ongoing initiatives that will evolve over time with the company’s growth coupled with the candidate’s desire to learn. Displaying an inquisitive mind and positive personality, the candidate will handle a full cycle production accounting desk while strictly adhering to all corporate and government deadlines. Communicating and collaborating with key stakeholders internally and externally is essential for success in this role.  

Key Responsibilities

  • Full cycle Alberta & Saskatchewan production and revenue accounting for operated properties and minor non-operated properties; focus on Lloyd heavy oil;
  • Complete all required Petrinex reporting;
  • Maintain monthly PA electronic desk files;
  • New well master data, royalty encumbrances, processing fees, contract operating, SWD charges, emulsion handling, and all income recoveries;
  • Assist marketing and field staff with APMC volume deliveries versus forecast;
  • Manage large volumes of truck tickets;
  • Review, understand and maintain fuel, flare, vent, and gas/oil ratios;
  • Collaborate with Measurement Coordinator to ensure accurate property schematics;
  • Support and be active with corporate EPAP initiatives;
  • Ad hoc projects and queries.

Required Characteristics, Attributes and Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization;
  • Exceptional organization skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of teams across business units;
  • Require minimal leadership and must be able to push multiple tasks across the finish line simultaneously if required;
  • Deadline driven and curious about existing processes and problem solving;
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize workloads to meet all deadlines accurately;
  • Excellent Excel skills;
  • Open to learning and taking on new tasks in an ever-changing industry environment;
  • Flexible but assertive when required.


  • CAPPA Designation or Production Accounting Certification (SAIT/Mount Royal);
  • Minimum 5 years of Production & Revenue Accounting experience;
  • Metrix and Qbyte FM experience;
  • Field Data Capture systems (Avocet) and Scada an asset;
  • Petrotranz, CS Explorer, Power BI, Optix, Open Invoice an asset;
