Solar Service Technician II
SUMMARY: WinTec Arrowmaker, Inc. is a defense contractor dedicated to providing outstanding program management, engineering, logistics, and operations support to Department of Defense customers. The Solar Service Technician II e is responsible for the sustainment, maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and removal of solar power systems across 15+ solar sites that provide primary and backup power to AT&T cellular towers supporting military training operations. The Solar Service Technician II ensures that all solar power systems remain fully operational 24/7 to support continuous mission requirements. This position reports directly to the WinTec Site Manager and may require periodic shift work and occasional travel to remote sites via helicopter; while reporting directly to the WinTec Site Lead/Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain solar power systems to the component level, applying electronics principles to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment to optimal operation.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on the following primary systems:
- Photovoltaic Arrays: IronRidge Ground Mount Racking System with Jinko Solar JKM435M-72HLM-TV 435W bifacial modules.
- Energy Storage: SuperCap Energy SCE48V7460EMR23 48VDC, 7.46 kWh supercapacitor modules.
- Power Management: Vertiv 7100-Series DC Power Plant, including rectifiers, solar control modules, 1M830DNA NCU Controller, and eSure modules. O
- Inverters: Wilmore Electronics 1747-48-115-60 2.2 kVA DC-to-AC inverters. o Backup Power: Two (2) 30 kW Kohler LP-fired generators with Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) and three (3) 1000-gallon LP fuel tanks.
- Protection: MidNite Solar Surge Protection Devices (MNSPD).
- Conduct performance testing, system verification, and component-level repairs using digital multimeters, soldering tools, power supplies, battery testers, and associated hand tools.
- Perform Target Battery testing and assist with related equipment support as needed.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance actions, parts consumption, and system performance.
- Safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stoop, bend, and work in extreme heat and cold outdoor field environments.
- Provide surge support to other technical teams (e.g., MILES/TESS) when required.
- Travel to remote sites via helicopter as necessary.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Site Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- U.S. Citizen (required)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience performing PMCS (Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services) and sustaining solar array/power systems. Solar Service Technician II (1 positions available)
- Strong experience maintaining solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage solutions, charge controllers, inverters, and generator backup systems in a fully mission-capable condition.
- In-depth knowledge of electronics and the ability to troubleshoot circuits down to the component level.
- Proficient with tools and test equipment, including Digital Multimeters, soldering irons, power supplies, and battery testers.
- Demonstrated ability in time management, problem-solving, attention to detail, and working independently or in a team environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suit
- Military background or familiarity with military command and control structures.
- Possess a working knowledge of the organizational interface of military, federal, state, and local agencies.
SECURITY CLEARANCE: Ability to obtain and maintain ACTIVE DOD Secret Clearance.
