Fleet Week 2020 Sponsorship Sales Director

Living Classrooms Foundation is seeking a qualified and highly motivated individual to be the Sponsorship Sales Director for the 2020 Maryland Fleet Week and Airshow Baltimore a biennial event scheduled for September 9-14, 2020.  This event brings thousands of people to Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, Fort McHenry, Fells Point, Martin State Airport and other areas around the City to visit US Navy Ships, witness an amazing airshow, and enjoy the festive atmosphere created by this family-friendly event.  It also serves to raise the profile of the Foundation’s Historic Ships in Baltimore program featuring USS Constellation, USS Torsk, USCGC Taney, Lightship 116 Chesapeake and the Seven Foot Knoll Lighthouse.  The theme of Fleet Week 2020 is the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII.

 

The Sponsorship Sales Director will report to the LCF Vice President, Heritage Programs. This position requires strong time management, organizational, computer, and writing skills as well as the ability to work cohesively as a member of the Living Classrooms Team to produce quality results.

 Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Meeting the sponsorship sales goal of $500,000 in support of the 2020 Maryland Fleet Week and Airshow Baltimore as outlined by the LCF Vice President, Heritage Programs
  • Researching potential sponsorship prospects
  • Making direct contact with potential sponsorship prospects
  • Development of customized sponsorship benefits packages
  • Securing sponsors and negotiation of sponsorship agreements
  • Overseeing sponsorship fulfillment before, during and post event

 Coordinated Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Attending working Fleet Week Team meetings and reporting on progress towards goal
  • Working with the LCF Development Team develop and review prospect lists
  • Working with the Event Hotel and Hospitality Manager to ensure sponsor fulfillment requirements are met
  • Working with the Festival Manager to ensure sponsor fulfillment requirements are met
  • Working with the Marketing and Communications Manager to ensure that sponsor fulfillment requirements are met.
  • Working with the Education Manager to ensure sponsor fulfillment requirements are met
  • Working with the entire Fleet Week Team to help produce a high-quality, family friendly event

 General Responsibilities include by are not limited to:

  • Being an effective co-worker who promotes a positive work ethic, is a positive spokesperson for HSB and LCF, and who works cohesively as a member of the HSB and LCF team to produce quality results
  • Such other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Heritage Programs

 JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong organizational, time management and communications skills.
  • 2 or more years prior experience in sponsorship sales
  • 4-year, bachelor’s degree
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to arrive on time to work full days.
  • Must work well as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite / Office 365
