The Cash Applications Assistant Manager will oversee, manage, and regulate timeliness and quality assurance of the Cash Applications Department.

REPORTS TO/SUPERVISES

The Cash Applications Assistant Manager will report directly to the Vice President of RCM and will work collaboratively with other Emergicon personnel.  The Cash Applications Assistant Manager will provide daily management and leadership to the Cash Applications Department, ensuring that staff is adhering to departmental procedures and meeting goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the company’s lockbox operations
  • Manage daily cash application of payments made to the different lockboxes
  • Manage and review work of the team daily
  • Continually evaluate the effectiveness of operational procedures and controls to maximize departmental productivity and minimize errors made by staff
  • Responsible for ensuring Cash Applications team is adhering to internal controls
  • Monthly cash reconciliation processes and end of month close
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators for Posting and Lockbox activities
  • Revise and maintain cash application policies and procedures to ensure changing business requirements are met
  • Review/oversee Cash Applications and streamline processes
  • Conduct quality audits on all posting activities
  • Review payments received and resolved high level client inquiries
  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple deadlines
  • Review and research any errors or adjustments to the cash accounts
  • Responsible for the oversight of credit card processing
  • Ability to think outside the box and suggest creative solutions
  • Recruit, select, orient, and manage appropriate staff to ensure operational objectives are met

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED 

  • 5-7 years of Medical Cash Applications (payment posting and check processing)
  • 2-5 years of experience managing a staff of 4 or more
  • Strong communication skills
  • 2 years of experience developing training manuals or processes
  • Proficiency with Excel for reconciliation and tracking purposes
  • Experience in high volume medical billing environment
  • Proven track record of developing and improving processes

 WORKING CONDITIONS 

Work is performed indoors, on a computer, and requires sitting or standing at workstation for long periods.

 Emergicon requires pre-employment background checks and drug screenings.
