Dietitian
Contracted position; 10 hours a week (flexible hours)
Pay: $45/hr
Role: Assists Executive Chef/Dietary Manager in the preparation of meals. This is accomplished by taking into account Juniper Communities’ philosophy, hallmarks, policies and procedures as well as current federal, state and local regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Ensures the provision of a continuous high quality of service within the Dining Services department through ongoing supervision, oversight and delegation.·
- Assist Executive Chef/Dietary Manager in the coordination of effective communication among dining services staff and resident assistants.
Practice proper sanitation and compliance to all
Health Department regulations pertaining to food service.
· Maintain necessary records and
completes all administrative paperwork as required.
· Ensures healthcare policies
and procedures are documented and reflect current practices.
· Assists in menu development,
therapeutic extensions and adaptation to healthcare residents’ needs.
· Demonstrates diplomacy and
positive interpersonal skills in communications with staff and family members.
· Communicates in a highly
professional manner in both written and oral formats.
· Monitors all aspects of
department service for regulatory compliance.
· Participates in the
development and presentation of nutrition classes, displays, in-services
and programs for staff, residents and the community.
· Assists in management in other
areas of the department.
· Maintains a plan for
self-development and professional growth.
· Contribute to Community
relationships by demonstrating cooperation and professional conduct with
residents, families, fellow employees, physicians, pharmacies and other vendors
or persons.
· Contribute to team effort by
being flexible in work assignments; by furnishing support; by taking
initiative; and by understanding how this position affects and compliments all
other Community positions.
· Able to maintain work pace appropriate
to given work load. Perform activities on schedule while maintaining regular
attendance and punctuality within specified tolerance.
Requirements:
· Degree as a Registered
Dietitian.
· Knowledge of volume food
preparation.
· Knowledge of all applicable
governmental regulations.
· Knowledge of the physiology
and psychology of the older adults.
· Knowledge of the dietary needs
of older adults.
