Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

The MMT is responsible for providing support and service to WBC’s internal customers in the manufacturing, hospitality, retail, administrative, transportation, and warehouse functions of the business. The MME must conduct his / her responsibilities with a commitment to safety, quality, and service with a focus on keeping all required equipment and systems always battle-ready. The MMT reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

·         Assist all areas of the business with maintenance-related issues.

  • Preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and systems
    • Pumps, piping, valves, and motors
    • Refrigeration systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Compressed air system
    • Boilers
    • Automation systems
    • Facility plumbing.
  • Perform general facility upkeep
  • Work with and support outside contractors
  • Provide on-call, off-hours repairs when necessary
  • Performing their job duties in a safe manner all the time.

·         General knowledge of building maintenance and building construction including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and related building upkeep.

  • Additional work when major shutdowns are planned

Skill Requirements:

·         Hands-on experience (minimum 2 years) in both maintenance shop and manufacturing environments.

·         Knowledge of pumps, controls (level, pressure, temperature, etc.), motors, valves, electrical systems, etc.

·         Ability to work in a team environment and independently

·         Demeanor to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize simultaneous demands

·         Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.

  • Flexibility to work evenings and/or weekends when necessary.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills.

 Preferred Requirements:

  • Massachusetts State licenses -
    • Boilers, plumbing, pipefitting, electrical, hoisting, etc.
  • Ability to weld when necessary.
  • Safety involvement (OSHA, PHA, MOC, SOP, etc.).

·         Ability to operate a forklift, bobcat, and front-end loader.

·         Beverage manufacturing experience preferred.

 

Related Information:

  • Works in manufacturing, warehouse, and maintenance shop environments
  • Work week is from Monday through Friday
  • On-call for maintenance issues

 

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Position is 90-95% field/shop work and 5-10% administrative
  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, lift, turn, kneel, climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able to regularly lift/carry over 50 lbs.
  • Able to periodically lift/move 165 lbs.
  • Able to work safely in a manufacturing environment that may be loud, slippery, humid, cold, and hot.
