Summary:

We are looking for a skilled hotel maintenance engineer for our five-star property. This position requires that you respond and attend to guest requests in a five-star-like manner. Communicate with guests in a positive, uplifting and extremely customer-oriented and service-like approach to resolving maintenance issues. Perform general preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment including HVAC, heating, laundry equipment and general campus-wide needs. Inspect equipment machinery throughout the campus. Carry hand tools and equipment (e.g., tools, radio) to provide maintenance and repairs in an effective and efficient manner with little and no negative impact on guests on all areas of the hotel while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.

Essential Job Functions and Primary Responsibilities:

·       As an experienced hotel Maintenance Engineer, you will need to periodically install and maintain an array of equipment and you should have extensive knowledge of general hotel mechanical equipment.

·       Ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate a high-level of problem-solving skills.

·       As an outstanding Maintenance Engineer should be able to service, troubleshoot, and repair equipment without causing extended equipment downtime.

·       Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.

·       Removing old equipment and installing new machines.

·       Be well versed on new technology and be able to quickly learn new technical information on existing and new equipment.

·       Adhere to all safety and performance regulations.

 

Qualifications Required:

·       Experience and deep knowledge of Hotel Maintenance protocols and systems.

·       Proficiency in 1 of the following areas or above-average skills in 2; basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration and/or mechanical.

·       Display ability to perform general Hotel Industry or alike responsibilities.

·       General Experience with chillers, hot and cold-water loops. (Multistack Chiller a plus)

·       General Knowledge and some experience in cooling towers a plus.

·       Experience with general laundry equipment. How to troubleshoot laundry systems. Able to fix any a major plus. (Experience in Milnor Washers and Dryers a major plus)

·       Experience with building systems and various circulating pumps and equipment.

·       Understand basics and troubleshoot boilers. (knowledge of Buderus Boilers a major plus)

·       Able to troubleshoot various HVAC systems.

·       Able to repair miscellaneous maintenance items and any guest room and guest related requests.

·       Excellent people skills possess a positive, outgoing, and naturally curious personality

·       Ability to handle obstacles in a positive and professional manner and to effectively communicate suggested solutions

·       A valid Driver’s License

·       Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Supervisor, MOD or hotel management.

 

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience in luxury hotels
  • Pool and pool systems operations

  • Perform mid-level troubleshooting of hotel Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Display the ability to train and mentor other engineers
  • Previous guest relations training
  • Be computer and technology savvy
