Communications Manager

Siloam’s approach to medical care provides a unique, interdisciplinary model of whole-person health care that addresses the physical, social, emotional, and spiritual determinants of health. Our staff is anchored by a multicultural primary care team that serves alongside roughly 300 volunteer interpreters, doctors, nurses, and other licensed medical specialists each year to provide comprehensive health care to Nashville’s most vulnerable.

What You'll Do
The Communications Manager furthers the mission of Siloam Health by writing, project-managing, and executing donor-facing communications for email and direct mail, with a major emphasis on fundraising and stewardship.
This role requires a strong writer and editor with a good visual eye, a project manager who can drive complex work forward across multiple stakeholders, and someone enthusiastic about using AI to multiply output. A passion for storytelling and ownership of execution from outline to delivery are essential.
Writing and Content
- Write appeals, newsletter content, fundraising campaign messaging, and donor stewardship communications.
- Interview patients, staff, and other stakeholders to source storytelling material.
- Maintain brand voice, story integrity, and proofreading quality across every piece produced
Campaign and Project Execution
- Ensure Siloam’s voice and messaging priorities are aligned with the organization’s strategic plan and direction.
- Lead the creation and production of donor-focused communication pieces for the organization, including the annual report, printed newsletters and appeals, email campaigns, monthly donor communications, cultivation and stewardship
Production and Coordination
- Work with the Director of Communications & Engagement and the Volunteer Engagement Manager as an integrated team by participating in regular team planning meetings and
- Maintain Asana as the team's shared system for tracking active projects, deadlines, and priorities.
- Coordinate directly with the Volunteer Engagement Manager on campaigns and initiatives — alignment happens within the team, not just through the Director.
- Coordinate with vendors (printer, direct mail house) and contract graphic designer on print collateral and digital assets.
- Manage website update requests and ensure timely and accurate updates.
- Receive and execute on project requests from across the organization
Who We Are Looking For
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or at least 4 years of experience in communications or related field.
Qualifications
- Passionate about Christian ministry to the underserved and in full agreement with Siloam’s mission and core values.
- Willingness to serve persons with limited access to healthcare and who are from different cultures and faith beliefs.
- Demonstrated experience in written and verbal communications, including strong writing and editing skills. Fundraising copywriting experience preferred.
- Enthusiastic about using AI to increase efficiency and output.
- Strong project management skills, including familiarity with Asana or comparable tools.
- Experience with MS Office, email marketing software, and Canva preferred.
- Visual eye and design sensibility, with the ability to direct work for a graphic designer.
- Self-directed and able to drive work forward with minimal oversight while waiting on approvals.
- Adherence to OSHA and confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
