Assistant Brewer at Bambucha Kombucha

Bambucha Kombucha is looking for an assistant brewer in the heart of San Diego craft beverage, Vista, CA. The ideal candidate is a person with one year of background experience in brewery operations. Less experienced candidates with a strong desire to learn and willingness to work hard will also be considered. We will partner with the right candidate to provide training as necessary.

Duties & responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Report directly to our Head Brewer and be actively involved in all facets of the day-to-day operations
  • Tea production
  • Quality assurance and testing
  • Cellar work including kombucha transfer, filtration, and carbonation
  • Operating keg washer and canning line functions
  • Cleaning, sanitation, and maintenance of brewhouse facilities
  • Sanitizing tanks, filter equipment, hoses, etc.
  • Proper handling of chemicals required for sanitization and cleaning equipment
  • Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards

Requirements:

  • Passion for craft beverage
  • Strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team, with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be on feet all day and able to lift 55 lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working with chemicals and willingness to adhere to safety, environmental and brewhouse standards at all times
  • Good troubleshooting skills, and strong mechanical/electrical aptitude
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • 6 months previous experience at a brewery as an assistant brewer, brewer, or cellarman is preferred but not required

  • Degree or background in brewing, biology, chemistry or engineering is a bonus but not required
